The big boss, the head honcho, or just the lunatic that decided to start all this, you decide !
I started Firebrand Radio nearly seven years ago now after seeing how difficult it was for unsigned artists to get airplay on commercial stations and the rest as they say is history.
Music has always been in my blood since my upbringing was listening to my fathers Beatles and Stones collection. From the age of eight I discovered music that I could never put down Bruce Springsteen, Rush, Alice Cooper and Queen and that is what got me hooked on music. Although I have quite an eclectic taste in music, I will listen to anything if it is good and won’t be defined by genre.
It has been my pleasure to have interviewed some of the greats over the years of running Firebrand. Such people as Glenn Hughes, Robin Beck, Ronny Munroe, David Reece, Dennis Dunaway but my funniest interview had to be with Lordi, I went to London to meet them for the interview and thinking since I am meeting them at their hotel it would just be the guys there being normal. I walked into the hotel room to start the interview with all my questions prepared, Opened the door, and there they were in full stage monster make-up. Tell you Mr. Lordi is an imposing sight when you see him up that close and personal, Needless to say I forgot what I was going to ask and it took me a few minutes to get my bearings.
Running this motley crew of radio presenters and reviewers is a wonderful job. Working with people that have the passion and dedication to music that my team have is a great gift and makes my life so much less stressful.
Additionally I own the music PR company Skyfire Interactive Ltd. We specialise in promoting artists in the rock/prog/blues and metal genres. If you would like to discuss this with me you can always email me on email@example.com
