Shout About It is a grassroots festival taking place in Liverpool next month bringing music and music photography together in one place. The event is taking place at Constellations, a venue in the Baltic Triangle area close to the Liverpool Docklands on August 18th & 19th.
This year sees a host of popular musicians taking part, including Himalayas, REWS and Tom Speight, giving budding gig photographers the chance to see what it’s like ‘down the front’.
As well as the live music there will be an exhibition showing work from several gig photographers from home and abroad, of which I’ll be one, giving the photographers the opportunity to showcase their work and enable networking with like-minded photographers and the musicians.
Amongst the photographers this year you’ll be able to see:
Georgia Flynn (without whom this event would not happen)
John W King
….and me, Reg Richardson (RockStarsRising)
You can take a virtual 3D tour of the exhibition here: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=jfWiHbznPWQ
The Shout About It community promotes interaction between musicians and photographers as well as working with community and youth groups to improve connections and opportunities within these areas, so show the event some support and see what goes on in the life of a gig photographer – it’s really glamorous….honest it is!
So, if you’re in Liverpool on August 18th or 19th come on down to Constellations, bring a camera and maybe have a go at photographing the bands. Tickets for the festival are available through Skiddle (https://www.skiddle.com/festivals/shout-about-it-live/tickets.html).
