Blaze Bayley and The Dirty Youth set to headline Fire & Forge festival

Fire & Forge began life as Rock Diabetes in 2012, before being rebranded in 2015 and has grown each year, supporting underground rock and metal while at the same time raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

The festival combines high profile headliners with an array of underground talent from across the rock and metal spectrum, which means there’s always something to tempt every palette. Superbly run and with a great, friendly atmosphere Fire & Forge is a fantastic event for everyone – and the fact that by supporting the festival you’re supporting such a great cause as well is an added bonus.

Over the years the festival has seen stunning performances from the likes of Diamond Head, Breed 77, Paul Di’Anno and Grim Reaper, but this year promises to top the lot, with an outrageous selection of top quality artists. Held at the Civic Centre in Trowbridge, on the 6th and 7th of October, this year’s event will be headlined by former Iron Maiden and Wolfsbane singer, Blaze Bayley and rising stars The Dirty Youth.

Blaze’s latest album, the stunning Endure And Survive, was recently awarded a 99/100 rating by The Metal Mag, who called it ‘a pearl to own in your collection!’ Following on from established classics like Silicon Messiah, Tenth Dimension and The Man Who Would Not Die, Endure And Survive has set new standards for the respected front man; the brilliant title track and lead single perfectly summing up the power and passion of the album.  Previously, in his tenure with Iron Maiden Blaze performed on some classic tracks like the storming ‘Man On The Edge’, taken from the album The X-Factor.

Fellow headliners The Dirty Youth have notched up over 8,000,000 views of their superb video for ‘Fight’ and released an inspired cover of Blondie’s ‘Atomic’ as the third single from their 2015 album Gold Dust.

Blaze’s appearance at Fire & Forge will be the final, climactic date of his Endure And Survive World Tour, so the last chance to see a set list which combines classics from his past career with numbers from the new album. Blaze will also be doing a meet and greet session at the festival, so bring along your Blaze, Wolfsbane and Iron Maiden items for signing!

The rest of the talent packed line-up includes underground heroes like Divine Chaos, Eradikator, Fury, Lifer, Gehtika and a battalion of others. As well as continuous great music there will be a bar (of course!), hot food, stalls, merch stand, a prize draw and a special auction featuring some unique and highly desirable festival related items.

There will also be a very special guest of honour at Fire & Forge 2017 – Steve Grimmett of Grim Reaper. Steve recently lost his leg due to diabetes related problems and has shown incredible bravery in recovery. He will be demonstrating his amazing courage once more by taking to the stage at Fire & Forge to perform a song with one of the bands.

Day and weekend tickets are available now from the Fire & Forge website, and from Raves From The Grave Records.

So this October, support the British rock and metal scene, support underground music, support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and enjoy one of the best small festivals in the country.
