L’Anima set to release “Departures”

UK band L’Anima will release their debut album “Departures” on April 9, 2017.

L’ Anima is the brainchild band of London-based musician Pedro J. Caparros Lopez. The band started out as a collaboration between Pedro (Breed 77), and lead singer Andy Mitchell, frontman of the Yardbirds. Both are seasoned musicians, who have toured and recorded extensively, and it was a shared love of Progressive music that initially brought them together. The band’s final line-up was rounded out by some highly accomplished musicians; guitarist Mauro Paderni, bassist Luca Forlani and drummer Iban Sanz, who all brought the music to life.

The sound of the band is a inspiring and thought-provoking blend of progressive rock and the band’s USP – some sumptuous Spanish guitar stylings, mixing metallic textures with complex song structures. The album does, in fact, contain only one single piece split into eight sections.

Fans of The Mars Volta, Pain of Salvation and Yes are sure to love this remarkable album which features a powerful, complex, often challenging and unexpected sonic palette, distinctive and unique, melodic and bold.

L’Anima have released a video for the track Point of No Return. You can watch it here:
